Woman Held on Stabbing Charge After Late Sunday Incident
Estella Weeden, 20, was arrested on assault charges in connection with a stabbing of Lucius MacIntosh, 33, at 55 W Bethel Street. MacIntosh was taken to hospital for treatment and discharged yesterday. Weeden is in custody awaiting a hearing tomorrow.

County Students Win Poultry Judging Contest at Maryland
Smithsburg High School students honored for poultry judging at the University of Maryland Vocational Field Day. Kenneth Frey and Archie Winters Jr. led the team. Meredith Poole of Frederick won individual honors with Frey placing second. Thirty Maryland schools and about 200 boys participated in ideal weather with many awards.

Bids Opened for Garbage Work in City
Bids for garbage collection for the 1933 fiscal year were opened at a city meeting with 26 bids, the highest on record. The lowest bid was 2400 dollars. W L French bid 3300, 309 lower than 1932. Several bids came from outside Hagerstown. one from Sharpburg resident. Dismantling bids for the old municipal power plant on Memorial Boulevard were also opened and postponed. City considers leasing the site to a silk manufacturer who would repair the building and employ about 60 people. Greenawalt to invite the Williamsport firm to Thursday night session.
