Girl Rescued From Antietam Creek at Funkstown
Jean Cook a 13 year old granddaughter of Mrs Elizabeth Hager Funkstown was rescued yesterday evening near Stonebraker woods by Gerald Bowers 21 after slipping into Antietam Creek. He ordered her to cling to a bank and then plunged in to bring her to shore. The girl suffered shock but appeared unharmed beyond that. The water at the spot was several feet deep.
