A petition supporting a municipal 18 hole golf course on the city farm south of Hagerstown will be presented to the mayor and council on April 6. Sponsored by the junior chamber, the move aims to replace two abandoned holes from the existing nine hole layout as the east end park and WPA projects proceed.

A family of four fled in their night clothes after a large frame house along Antietam creek behind South Cleveland avenue burned early today. Owner William Garrett estimated the loss at about 4000 dollars, partly insured, with only a few furnishings saved. Firemen battled flames fed by the dog alerted by Garrett and arrived as smoke and flames enveloped the structure, drawing hundreds to the scene.

Seven of the eight passengers in a sedan were killed when an inter urban bus struck it broadside on Valley Boulevard. The Minkus family members identified among the deceased include Isador Minkus 30 wife Rore 26 and daughter Mona Lee 3 and Meyer Minkus 65 husband of the injured woman. Andrew Torbett driver of the bus suffered head injuries. The bus was inbound from San Bernardino and Redlands while the automobile traveled east. Lunch boxes and canteens in the wreck suggest a country picnic.
