Bill Advanced To Cut Realty Taxes
In Annapolis on March 25 the Senate advanced three administration bills to reduce the state real estate tax, float a pond improvement bond, and authorize purchase of the Claiborne Annapolis Fern. Amendments cut the levy to 22 cents in 1942 and 20.75 cents in 1943, halve the bond issue to about $2.086 million, and clarify the ferry purchase details. All three were ordered printed for third reading.
