Brigadier General Meton A. Neckord announced bids for the armory construction were rejected after a thorough review of the situation. Authorities cited no definite plan yet, with bids ranging from about 46 000 to 60 000 and no decision on a new site or layout.
The Commercial Trust Company will become the Fermers and Merchants Bank on April 1. On that date the entire assets including capital stock, deposits and surpluses of the Commercial will be liquidated and absorbed by the Fermers and Merchants Bank, and the latter’s capital stock increased by 120000 dollars. A unanimous affirmative vote changing the name was given by the stockholders of the Commercial Trust Company yesterday. The vote followed provisional guidance by the directors advising the asset transfer and revival under the new name.
