Harrisburg March 24 Attorney for Wendell Bowers Norristown convicted of slaying Wilma Carpenter 38 an attractive widow filed an clemency application with the State Pardons Board seeking to escape the electric chair. Bowers claims I never had a chance and was convicted of first degree murder. one of the chief witnesses was 22 year old Mary Griffin Mrs Carpenter's companion who testified against him.
