A Pasadena woman claims severe arthritis symptoms left her bedridden for two years. She says after taking Renton's Hydrocin Tablets she slept better and could walk without crutches, urging others with rheumatic conditions to try the product despite prior treatments.
National Music Week observance includes a Friday May 11 program in the Hagerstown High School auditorium. The Glee Clubs directed by Electa Ziegler and the High School orchestra directed by Peter Buys will perform at 2 PM as a regular assembly with students in the seats and the balcony reserved for the public. The Glee Clubs number about one hundred and the orchestra about fifty performers.
Mrs Nellie Clark prepares to leave for Buffalo N Y as Zonta Club members gather at Esther Smiths Potomac Avenue home for a surprise farewell. Refreshments served to Katherine Healy Electa Ziegler Mable Young Ruby Jackson Ardath Martin Miriam Evarts Bertha Negley.
The Junior Mechanics Club of Woodland Way High School held a regular meeting with President Max Mogenseen presiding. Secretary Henry Triester called roll and read the minutes. Instructor Nedrow outlined future plans and degree and pin qualifications. Tuesday work in progress starts at 7 o'clock.
The King's Daughters Sunday School Class of the Church of the Brethren was entertained at a St Patrick's social hosted by teacher Miss Bertha Negley on Randolph Avenue. A music and poem program and jig saw puzzles entertained those present Mildred Greenwalt Clara Lum Thelma Shilling Kathleen Murphy and Margaret Baldorff dainty refreshments followed.
Yesterday the Arts and Letters Club convened in the Women's Club committee room where Mrs. Paull Shields presented a paper on Odessa and Mrs. John Wagaman delivered a detailed study of Liverpool. The year’s topic is Parts of the World, with a note of postponement for tonight’s Clarence play at Williamsport High School.
The Conococheague Chapter of the D A R received an American flag and standard at the regular meeting at Mrs. Warren D. Miller’s home. Mrs. H Holt Maulsby, state flag committee chair, noted the Hagerstown chapter is the youngest in Maryland, organized September 1932. New members A R McGraw, Anne Curtis McGraw, and Lottie Keller were welcomed, bringing total to about 35. Refreshments followed, with next meeting at Mrs. John Howard’s Funkstown Hill. speaker will be H L Snyder, editor of the Shepherdstown Register.
Homemakers learn coat making under Miss Helen Shelby and Miss Ardath Martin at Halfway school. Classes run Tuesday to Friday with lists of participating members, including Mrs. Clyde Weller and Mrs. N. H. Bohrer. Visitors may attend Thursday for coat refining demonstration. Also a Williamsport Women's Club meeting was held at Mrs. J T Richards home with hostesses Mrs. Richards and Mrs. Crawford and refreshments served.
The Treble Clef Club gave a Nordic themed concert in the Hotel Alexander ballroom. Despite rain a large audience attended with Grieg and Palmgren as the featured composers. Julia Belle Schenk performed Palmgren’s The Sea and received warm applause. other participants included Eleanor Groh Mrs Robert Hurett Mrs Franklin Thomas Elizabeth Schnebley Walter Kline Regina Feigley A H Kreider Martin Ingram Julia Belie Shenk A H Sherman James Hendry Jane Miller Winifred Campbell.
The Southern Alumni Association of Franklin and Marshall College will host its annual dinner at Hotel Hamilton on Tuesday evening March 28. Guests include Prof. H. M. J. Klein head of history, Prof. Charles W Mayser head of physical culture and athletics, Rev. Paul D. Yoder, and Robert F. Pilgram alumni secretary.
Mr and Mrs George D Doub entertained at a St Patrick s dance Friday evening at their Williamsport area home. Music was by the Walley Serenaders with Arthur Shafter Pregton Myers Nelson Mowen Donald Myers and William Weller. Green and white decorations and refreshments complemented the festive gathering.

Silky crepe dresses with a pique element pair with jackets in dark or light colors. The ensemble features tailored military lines, broad shoulders, and varied weaves from narrow wale to basket pique, seen with hats, gloves, and accessories in black and white.
The Fidelis 3rd monthly meeting, held at Emmanuel A B Church and led by Mrs. Harvey Kline, followed a business session at Miss Nancy Gossard's Chestnut Street home. Beginning tomorrow evening mid week Lenten services at Washington Square M E Church will be conducted by the church societies and organizations. The Senior department of the Sunday School will lead this week with the topic Faith and Obedience. The organizing group will provide speakers and musical numbers and invites all church members and others to attend.
A minstrel show and dance will be held this evening at the Masonic Temple by D. F. Connor Lodge No 502, Brotherhood of Railroad Trainment, celebrating their anniversary. Program begins at 7:30 PM with a dance to follow. receipts permit admission for any member and their family.
A joint meeting of Hagerstows Tent No. 11 and Potomac Hive No. 45 is set for tomorrow at 8 p m at 25 North Potomac Street W C Hayes Baltimore State Commander will attend.
