Local Bills In State Assembly Include County Salary Raise

In Annapolis yesterday Delegate Ingram introduced a bill to raise the Orphans Court of Washington County judges’ salary to 1000 a year from 750. He also proposed a 75000 bond for a new Hancock high school. The Senate approved incorporating the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts at Hagerstown, plus other measures for upkeep and Williamsport city limits expansion.

The St Pauls Union Christian Endeavor Society met March 10 at 6 30. Miss Catherine Frush led the program on How To Become a Christian with a piano solo by Miss Dorothy Jane Spickler and various prayers. About sixty five attended. The Girls Missionary Society planned a cake and candy sale at City Market March 23. Other society news includes members ill and several social events at St Pauls School with a successful play Not So Bad After All and a large Bingo night raising funds for the school society.
