In Washington County 250 women across nine Women's Clubs and 226 girls in 16 Girls Clubs support community health outreach. Miss Margaret Smith, county home demonstration agent, told Meridian Club members at a noon luncheon that mothers braved mud fields to reach the transportless trition clinic run by the Pettonty title Women’s Club. The Girls Clubs work in schools while Women's Clubs fund a yearly University of Maryland scholarship for a Girls Club member.
