Chile orders 25 Fairchild training planes for Santiago
Chile has placed an initial order for 25 low wing Fairchild trainer aircraft built in the city and to be shipped to El Basque Field, Santiago. The trainer will support civilian pilot training under the government program. Air Commodore Dario Mujica led the selection with Commander Rafal Sears, attache, while a Fairchild official noted the planes replace older European models in Chilean service. Capt Tomas Gatica Thacache and Lieutenants Ostar Munoz Constant and Ricardo Lopez Puerina arrived in New York by boat to arrange shipments.
