Major Power Plant Bombed In North Vietnam

North Vietnam's Bac Giang power plant, supplying a large share of the region's power, was struck by a Navy jet bomber in darkness. Cmdr. Ronald J. Nuys led the raid, dropping 14 000 pounds of bombs under heavy anti aircraft fire. The operation followed other attacks on industry and transport targets amid fighting near the DMZ.

Volunteer Soldier Goes To Viet Nam From Nebraska

Harold Hamburg, 22, of Goring and five other brothers across World War II and Korea, volunteered to serve in Vietnam. He re enlisted in Denver after peace time service and two months of private training at Ft Bliss.
