Ship in danger from collision near Atlantic City
New York March 16 The US Army transport Madawaska badly damaged in a collision with the Invincible 20 miles off Atlantic City in dense fog. The Madawaska carried forty six passengers who will be transferred to another ship today. The Invincible tore a big hole in the Madawaska’s bow and for a time feared the transport would sink. The crew managed to slow the flooding.
