Minister to Face Charge in West Virginia Killing
In Williamson, West Virginia on March 14 a 62 year old mountain preacher, Fred Daniels of Red Jacket, wept while admitting to police that he killed his 42 year old son in defense of four younger, crippled relatives. Magistrate Emmett Keadle ordered Daniels held for the May grand jury on a homicide charge. Judge Reno F. Howard set bail at 35000 but Daniels remained in custody as his family tried to raise the bond.

Ex-Officer Held After Cumberland County Shooting
Ex-officer George Bucklew a 24 year old former Army Military Police member is held in Garrett County jail on a charge of unlawful shooting after he fired on Harless Nestor 24 during a warrant service. Nestor shot in the left thigh and taken to Cumberland hospital. Bucklew says he fired from over 100 yards while aiding officers pursuing Nestor who threatened to attack the household of Gilbert Weimer father in law of Nestor.
