State Industrial Commission awards local accident claims
The State Industrial Accident Commission issued decisions on several local cases. Annie Heck and Mary Heck, as mother and dependents of Philip Heck, were awarded weekly compensation of 6.42 dollars for 156 weeks beginning February 23. The commission reduced or redirected some awards to other relatives. W Frank Munn was denied or adjusted regarding corporate plant operator eligibility and was awarded 18 dollars weekly during disability. Fannile Swartz, mother of Walter Swartz killed at Byron plant, was granted 10.80 dollars weekly for eight years. Harry Baughman received 10 dollars weekly in his case against Security Cement and Lime Company.

Deaths of Mrs Martha J Smith and Mrs Sarah L Carbaugh
Mrs Martha J Smith widow of Charles Smith died at her Delia area home after a long illness aged 85. Surviving are six children. Mrs Sarah L Carbaugh died at Welsh Run aged 41, survived by husband J C Carbaugh and ten children. Funeral Thursday at Montgomery Church with interment at the adjoining cemetery.
