Edward D. Shriner Jr of Frederick files suit in circuit court alleging Miss Maude Stogner also known as Marie Stogner or Rockingham NC made false statements to extort $30,000 as hush money over a claimed breach of promise of marriage. The defendant allegedly demanded the sum October 9, 1951, threatening civil action to coerce payment.
Oklahoma City oil rig builder Barney Barnes recounts four years of heartburn and indigestion after meals. He tried many remedies until taking Pape's Diapepsin, which gave almost immediate relief and now allows him to eat meats with no trouble. Thousands report quick relief from sour stomach by chewing a tablet.
