Payroll Deductions To Cut Need For Charity Soliciting At Plant
Fairchild Aircraft Division tests a voluntary payroll deduction system to fund charity campaigns. Workers would contribute ten cents weekly from hourly pay and fifty cents semi monthly from salaried staff into a common fund for charities including March of Dimes Cancer Fund Heart Fund and Community Chest. Most respondents favor the plan and it would end plant solicitations if approved. Employees may opt out of specific charities or direct full deductions to one charity. Bulletins will report distributions by charity.
