Two Army aviators from Washington and Buffalo died when a Marine plane crashed near Gettysburg Battlefield during maneuvers. Captain George D. Hamilton, 37, and Sergeant George G. Martin were aboard a DE-4 plane. Hamilton, a World War II veteran, served as major and held a congressional medal. The crash occurred as thousands of marchers prepared to reenact Pickett’s Charge. The machine rolled and nose-dived from a height of about 3,000 feet. Both men died. Hamilton's body was recovered at the scene. John Bricker died suddenly at his home on South Washington Street Greencastle pa after being taken ill at about 1 pm He was head clerk at Hack Brothers store member of the Lutheran Church and survived by widow a daughter and a son with his mother brother and other relatives The funeral is set for Wednesday at 2 pm with interment Cedar Hill Cemetery Community events and church notices follow including Bible school plans and social visits
Thomas Brewer and wife Harry, with Fred Lesh, are in the Hopewell area. Families attend Sunday gatherings with Whitor Clark, George Herbert, Kithel, and Grantmother Herbert in Williamsport.
