Miss Norford Heads Stick Saving Contest in Washington County
Miss Georgia Norford chairs the Washington County Tuberculosis Association drive to save ice cream sticks for patients in Maryland hospitals. The weekly contests run from June 27 to July 2 and then weekly until September 10, with top collectors earning half a gallon of ice cream. Local dairies donate the treats and sticks are shipped to Baltimore for sterilization and use by tuberculosis patients.
