Truck accident and injuries reported after mountain plunge
A truck loaded with over 230 bags of potatoes left a mountain road and plunged down an embankment near Boonsboro injuring driver Roscoe Hooker who was taken to Frederick hospital. The vehicle and cargo were damaged and scattered potatoes disrupted the area. A second crash on Summit Avenue involved two autos driven by Roger Shellman and Herbert Dobesly with charges for reckless driving and failure to give right of way.

Cumberland Maryland June 20 three Gaithersburg fremsa en route to attend the Maryland State Firemen’s Association convention were injured when their car left the road at the bottom of Martin mountain five miles east of here. Driver Robert Henry Costello 25 suffered head injuries facial lacerations and bruises. William Charles Ligenbell 38 had head and cheek injuries severe lacerations and bruises. Charles T Reel 27 received body bruises. All three admitted to Allegany hospital with Lugenbell in critical condition.
