Washington County Boy Scouts Plan Fourth of July Display
The Washington County Council of Boy Scouts held its annual dinner at Beck's Annex. Officers were reelected led by John B. Ferguson as president. district commissioners were appointed. plans for the July 4 fireworks include a kite contest, ticketed seating at the Fairgrounds, and endorsement of the celebration by service clubs. The council reports 110 adults and 428 scouts. new troops form in Hancock, Rohrersville, Sharpsburg, with future units talked for Brownsville, Smithsburg, Cavetown. The group aims to hire a Scout Executive and notes ongoing camp and toy projects.
