In Sunnyvale California Barry and Jean Johnson create a simple behavior aid the TV Watchbird to limit their daughter Christine's viewing. Each half hour watched adds a unit on a rotating wheel. after years of overuse Christine now spends under 10 hours weekly with programs chosen to minimize violence and boost outside activities. The device costs 1.30 and aims to help other families replicate the approach.
