Plaudits And Song Highlight Sisterhood Luncheon

The Sisterhood of M'nai Abraham Congregation held a refined luncheon aboard The Venice to honor members and guests. Mrs. Isidor Spevtor presided as toastmistress while Mrs. Frank H. Schreisheim and others received thanks for arrangements. Rabbi Gluckman gave the invocation as the president Mrs. Maurice Weisberg reported yearlong achievements and outreach, including hospital drives and interfaith projects. New officers were announced, and soloist Mrs. Nathan Palumbo performed pieces from Fiddler On The Roof and Cabaret before closing with a Yiddish song celebrating women.

Women honored at Sisterhood luncheon for hospital service

Three ladies Mrs Frank Schreisheim Mrs Meyer Berkson and Mrs Moses Berkson were honored beside Rabbi Donald Gluckman who presented framed certificates for faithful service at Newton D Baker Hospital. The women travel with the Rabbi each holy day to prepare and cook the special meals for patients.

Boy Scout Troop 101 Holds Court Of Honor Ceremonies

Troop 11 held its Court of Honor ceremony recently in Donb's Woodls. David Raub led the salute in the elute to The Flay. Reverend John Ewald gave the Invocation. Will Hose, speechmaster, announced merit badges awarded to David Dah, Mike Hildebrand, Dennis Hutzel, and others. Patrol leader and troop badges went to several members. three year pins and attendance pins were also presented. The highlight was a Gold Bool for first place in the Washington County District Spring Caraporee 1908, presented by Cilena Kemmett and Ed Shipley. District officials attended, including Jobin Bogdanski and Dale Shives.
