In Dunbar West Virginia a 31 year old mother Manola DeFord and Cecil Emory James of Charleston were killed in a suspected love triangle shooting. A second man was wounded as Lewis F Lee a foreman at a paint factory confessed to firing the fatal shot. Lee was wounded in the arm and hospitalized. Police officers described a rapid exchange of gunfire at the apartment near the Dunbar Police Department.

Sunday cases included Dolores Smyre treated for a left foot laceration and George W Morgan who sustained a laceration above the left eyebrow.
The report lists multiple robberies Sunday morning in Hagerstown. Victims include Donald Addlesberger and Guy W. Mongan, both assaulted and robbed of cash, watches, and checks. James Monroe Henry was also robbed near Ruby Avenue, one attacker striking him and taking about 25 to 40 dollars. One suspect description notes two colored men.
Gordon Bachtell and Paul Shatzer, both 16, were arrested Sunday morning by local officers on larceny charges for stealing watermelons and oranges from a Western Maryland freight car after breaking a seal at the yards. They were turned over to Lieut. E J Chapman of the Western Maryland police.
A 14 year old Negro youth, Aaron Shelton Jr., confessed to strangling 48 year old Mrs. Walter A. Shetland in her Langhorne home and setting the house aflame. He reenacted the crime for officers and newsmen, and a murder charge will be filed.
Shelton testified he carried the unconscious woman to the basement after a blow and then set the house ablaze with gasoline. Investigators are reviewing the claims as the case proceeds.
A light plane from the municipal airport was forced to land on the Rowland farm about a mile east of the airport after moisture froze in the carburetor. Two occupants were aboard but their names were unavailable. No injuries reported. aircraft damaged on arrival and awaiting repairs.
