Farm prisoner is recaptured
Herman Paulsen aged 25 escaped from the State Penal Farm at Roxbury on Friday June 12. He was arrested yesterday at his McKeesport Pennsylvania home and returned to Hagerstown. He was held at the police station overnight and will be sent to Baltimore today to complete the sentence. He told officers he became homesick and planned to return to the penal farm within a few days.

Pet dog joins owner in death in Maryland yard burial
Mrs. Maude Ford formerly of Hagerstown died last week in Baltimore. In her will she asked her white Pomeranian, companion on many journeys in search of better climate, be put to death and shipped to Leitersburg to be buried in her aunt Mrs Lan Zeigler's yard. Executors carried out the request and the dog was buried in a white casket with its owner’s remains.
