Many Hurt in Auto Crashes Over Weekend
Five persons were injured in a head on collision on the National highway near Hopewell Saturday at about 6 PM. Dr H E Wolk of Cleveland, driver of the east bound car, is said to have tried to pass on a hill crest. His car struck Percy Antony of Washington two other occupants, George and Edgar Thomas, were also injured. Miss Anne Elizabeth Diamond of New York City suffered arm and body injuries and was at Washington County Hospital.

Police probe after string of early Sunday crashes in Maryland
County Investigator Clarence Baker and Deputy Edgar Brant investigated a crash in which Dr. Wolk was charged with passing an other car on a clear road and released on 500 bond for a hearing July 27. Old Folks at U B Service Celebrate Century Old Worship
Worshippers at United Brethren church Myersville held the 21st Old Folks service for residents over 60. About 150 attended including five sisters with combined ages 432 years and five Gernand brothers totaling 402 years. Mary Fulmer, 94, was the oldest woman. John James, 92, the oldest man.

Week-end highway crashes claim 76 lives nationwide
At least 76 persons were killed in U S weekend traffic accidents across the country with Pennsylvania reporting nine fatalities. In one wreck near Tunkhannock nine were injured and one killed as a transcontinental bus skidded on a slippery hill overturning and crushing an automobile. Joseph J. Muir of Hagerstown is promoted to Universal Credit Company Home Office in Detroit with F A Norton succeeding him in Washington, D C.
