The 1936 soil conservation program will be discussed by Mark Shoemaker of the University of Maryland Extension Service and County Agent Milt D. Moore at Surrey School basement in Hagerstown tonight at 7 o'clock. A second meeting is set for Beaver Creek Community Hall tomorrow night at 7, closing the series. The program offers federal grants to encourage practices like growing legumes, grasses, green manures, and applying lime and fertilizer. Work sheets for participation will be filed starting next week at Hancock High School and Clearspring High School with June 15 as the deadline.
