Veterans and independents seek special session voting rule
About 190 veterans and independent voters seek to widen absentee ballot rules before the June 24 state primary. The board will review authority under the absentee ballot act to allow affiliated voting or necessitate emergency legislation. Good Prospects For Raspberry Crop In Southern Washington
Prospects are bright for a first crop of raspberries in the southern Washington county belt. A major producer says ripening will begin between Lith and the 20th of this month. Weather hurt strawberries but raspberries remain relatively unharmed, with J A Miller noting raspberries ripen after strawberries and benefit from upland ground. One Killed In Crash On Washington Baltimore Boulevard
A collision between an automobile and a trailer truck on the Washington Baltimore boulevard in Muirkirk Maryland left Thomas D. John 45 an Agriculture Department lab employee dead and Harry L. Sneade 45 of Beltsville critically injured. The truck driver William W. Breen 28 from New York City was uninjured. The crash occurred as the car attempted a U turn.

Appeals verdict in drunken driving case upheld with fine
Floyd M. Gitt of Keedysville appealed a City Court drunken driving conviction handed by Magistrate Martin WV. Bostetter. Gitt was arrested yesterday about 2 45 PM by Deputy Bruce Spiekier.
