In Pocatello Idaho on July 27 a loose metal strip on an underpass wall ripped the fender of a car driven by Rees. Eighteen months earlier at the same spot and hour a similar accident occurred with no injuries both times.
John R. Kerr, parade committee chair, announces three grand parades for the Antietam commemoration in Haserstown and Washington County. The General Parade on Sept 4 at 1 30 p m led by Rex Gaver and Grand Marshal John R Kerr, the Firemen and Fraternities Parade on Sept 10 at 6 p m led by Lewis Cross, and the Military Parade on Sept 17 at 6 p m organized by Vernon Metz Maurice Domenici and William C Snyder, with formation by Alsatians at South Potomac Junior High.
A Superior Court judge ruled that picketing a business to force unionization violates the Federal Bill of Rights. An injunction blocks the Amalgamated Meat Cutters and Butcher Workmen's union from picketing C. S. Smith Metropolitan Market Company plants in Los Angeles Long Beach and Compton, finding no labor dispute and that pickets aimed to compel union membership.

A heavy wind rain and hail storm swept Easton Maryland damaging corn and other crops and felling trees. Roy Willis driving a group of children to a Red Cross swimming course reported the wind reversing his truck on the highway. Lightning struck a hay stack at the Ewing farm five miles away. The storm lasted about an hour with about one inch of rain.
City officials in Hagerstown plan trials after a thorough look at Cumberland’s meter program. Interviews with business owners and motorists reported satisfaction with meters placed 21 feet apart for one hour at five cents, seen as increasing available parking and benefiting local commerce.
Mrs. David Chauffeurs twin sons were born during a rush trip to the hospital lobby. The delivery occurred on a mahogany table as the mother could not reach the operating room in time.
Cleveland scientists Lukeish Taylor and Kerr report that a clear day sky can carry nearly twice the burning power of direct sun rays. NEW YORK July 27 The seven year disappearance of Supreme Court Justice Joseph Force Crater remains unsolved on police records after a revived inquiry found no new leads. District Attorney William C. Dodge and Assistant Chief Inspector John A Lyons said no evidence exists at present. Stella Crater, widow of Crater, was interviewed by Captain Conrad Rothengal.
A jurist was reported missing after spending the weekend at her Belgrade Maine summer home and had not reported anything startling. Police are investigating but have found no immediate clues or alarming details.
