Tri State Elks convention to feature broad program
A new community booster program will print a four day convention guide for about 4000 attendees in Hagerstown August 19 21. The booklet will cover regional history local business and civic achievements and serve as a convention souvenir and booster. Hotels report near full bookings as downtown districts plan festive decorations with prizes for best trimmed buildings and windows. Open houses crab feast smoker street parade and dance mark the program across Monday to Wednesday.

Hazelton Pa July 23. Two employees of Peerless Explosive Company at White Haven were instantly killed when an explosion demolished the dynamite mixing plant. George Bensch 23 and Ernest Kintuck 22 were blown to bits. Cause of blast unknown.

Parks To Have Swimming Pools In Williamsport And Hancock

Governor Ritchie to Visit Camp Ritchie August 1
Governor Ritchie will inspect Camp Ritchie in Cascade County on August 1 a day set aside as Governor's Day by the Fifth Infantry Maryland National Guard unit during its annual two week training. He will attend a baseball game in the afternoon where the regimental championship will be decided and later review troops and present medals.
