Aviators Escape Injury In Crash Near Williamsport
Aviator Mark Mason of Williamsport escaped injury Saturday when his rented Broome plane struck a fence during an attempted takeoff from a field near Williamsport. Stanford Ferguson of Maugansville and a four passenger in the plane were unhurt. Mason, a World War I veteran who served in missions over Germany, landed about a mile from Williamsport along the Boonsboro road but failed to clear the fence, causing nose, propeller, and wing damage.
