Tenney resigns as Streets Superintendent with regrets

The Board of Street Commission announces the resignation of C. A. Tenney as superintendent of Streets effective August. JO McNheran of the Board read the resignation. Commissioners ordered repairs to eight traffic signals at Washington and Donarhan streets to rectify dangerous crossings. signs were shipped but not yet received.

Widening of the Slarsburg Pike and City Light Plant Update

The Street Commissioners proceed with widening the Slarsburg Pike by sixty feet, taking on land from one side with damages paid, while owners on the opposite side receive compensation. A request for a new city light plant faced delays as an environmental review paused the project. Police records show forty nine speed violations and $169.04 in fines collected over a two week period. Picnic Service Closes Young People's Division Event

A Washington County Sunday School Young People's Division picnic ended yesterday with Rev W F Reansberg of Monkstown leading vesper prayers. Delegates from Leatenrog participated. Miss Parks won a prize in a Camp Mire Cowbell activity. Rev Mr Remeberg Kr Dutton and Dr Ruxgell judged the program.

Bonds Sold At Court House Auction For City Improvement

Four percent improvement bonds were sold today at the courthouse by auctioneer Sogegh Murdock. The issue raised $19,000 with prices ranging from 93 to 106 cents per dollar. Two one thousand dollar bonds from Hagerstown and Pred anivk Stoway Co. sold at 1002 dollars. The sale also included bonds for W G Boyer and J Buyder executors of Lydia A Harr estate.
