Church Damaged by Lightning in Wolfsville Storm
During a severe Wednesday evening storm the Lutheran church at Wolfsville was struck by lightning causing about 2000 dollars in damage. The bolt ignited the pipe organ and altar before firefighters could extinguish the fire. Heavy hail accompanied the storm, with ten inch drifts near Myersville.

The father of Betsy Patterson, heroine of the Vitaphone film Glorious Betsy, once lived in the city. He kept a house at West Washington and South Prospect streets and may have resided in Hagerstown. Mutual Co Is Reorganized After Century Old Notes
The Mutual Company completes a reorganization after locating 312 original stockholders or their heirs who held notes from 1846 to 1872. Each old holder received 11 times the note value. the firm now has authorized capital of 130000 dollars and about 280000 dollars in assets. Many descendants have taken cash or converted notes into new stock, with some receiving up to 8000 dollars. A New York reinsurance policy backs all writings to protect stockholders from large fire losses.

Child Stolen in Miami Found Safe in Coral Gables
Four year old Billy McAllister was taken from his mother in Miami last night and found unharmed this morning in a vacant house in Coral Gables. Neighbors heard him banging on a closet door. kidnappers described as a fat man and a woman demanded $8000 ransom and warned not to repeat the message.
