In Akron Ohio neighbors say Carl Watson and his wife Lynn and their 4 year old daughter faced years of racial prejudice. A gasoline fire was started at their porch and Watson was shot while fleeing the burning home after grabbing a handgun to rescue his wife and child. He died from his injuries en route to hospital.
New Orleans reports a DCO airliner slid off the runway during landing after a gust of wind. Six passengers were unhurt.
