Harry Baker a Frederick county chicken thief with a waning skill began a new term of two and a half years after a June 20 arrest when he fled Emory Kelbaugh's farm with eight chickens in two bags. A stolen car left behind was linked to him by Sheriff Hiltner and Deputy Shook. He later admitted stealing another car. Baker pleaded guilty to taking the Royer hat bearing car and the Kelbaugh chickens. He received twelve months for unauthorized use and eighteen months for the chicken theft, to run consecutively. Baker is a familiar figure to local law enforcement.

Fire destroys city equipment depot on Church Street
A blaze at a city equipment building caused about 5000 in damages and injured employee Ralph Funkhouser with burns. Final Rites for Justice Cardozo in Port Chester
The funeral of U. S. Supreme Court Justice Benjamin N. Cardozo will be held at 2 P M today at the home of Justice Irving Leaman in Port Chester New York. The service will be by Rabbi Daressurum Cardozo and he will be buried in Cypress Hills cemetery Queens. A police escorted procession will proceed to New York City line and over to Long Island with officers stationed along the route. Cardozo age 68 had been visiting Port Chester while recuperating from illness.
