W York July 11 George Viereck told a special congressional committee that Dr Otto Kiep once paid him 2000 for favorable publicity to Germany. He said 500 monthly for four months from June 1933 plus office and staff from Carl Byoff. money came from Kiep's friends in Germany. He claimed France recently allocated 18 million francs for propaganda. The committee adjourned without firm proof of French activity.

Dorothy Jane Sprigg an 11 year old from Cumberland nearly drowned in Big Pool below the Y M C A camp yesterday after stepping into a deep hole. Her brother James 18 nearly drown while rescuing her but was saved by Lancellotte Brewer. George Bohman dove to reach the girl and Wayne Kitzmiller aided artificial respiration which revived her. Dr Perry treated her and credited the campers method. The hole was from a pipe line excavation no longer in use. The incident occurred off Y M C A property near the camp.
