Three 2 horsepower electric sirens join a steam siren at Western Maryland roundhouse with City Hall and schools already hosting sirens. The Big Six and Ferdinand the Bull will sound the all clear in town while continuous twelve second blasts will signal all clear in county districts.

Youths arraigned for taking auto in Boonsboro area
John McCoy and Joseph Barnhart both 16 were arraigned on auto theft charges after allegedly stealing a car on Hamilton boulevard and were sentenced to three months in the House of Correction but suspended for two years on good behavior. Six other Boonsboro youths faced similar cases, with one given 30 days, another paroled, and four given suspended sentences. Clyde J. Erickson, 17, received up to 100 dollars or 50 days for driving without a license.

OPA Probers Still On Job At Hagerstown Races

Students Will Get Judo Instructions at Maryland
University of Maryland physical education students will begin next week the study of judo taught by Fred Kobayashi a 24 year old Japanese American. He will come from Secretary Ickes Maryland farm where he has been raising poultry since April 18. President H G Byrd said Ickes consented to release Kobayashi. The university has sought a judo instructor from West coast evacuees for more than a year.
