About fifty law enforcement officers from Frederick and Washington counties attended the quarterly FBI conference in the city court room last night. J. W. Seventy seventh anniversary of the Marco Polo bridge incident marks Japan's start of the long war with China. During the raid over Jap mainland the first reports claimed success as bombers operated over targets and an enemy broadcast noted the attack while bombs fell. Early Saturday the Superfortresses, returning to bases in China, reported no losses. Four bombers were lost on the July 15 mission to anti aircraft fire, two in landing accidents, and one unaccounted for.
An OPA investigator is assigned to the Hagerstown area by the Baltimore district office to probe rationing and price regulation violations.
