Tenant Farmer Awarded 1200 From Estate

James W. Hicketts a Taneytown tenant farmer was awarded 1200 by a Circuit Court jury. The verdict came from the estate of Santo Roccella, former owner of the Taneytown farm. The case moved from Rockville against executrix Mary G. Bozzi. Roccella died Sept 9 1959. he left about 25000 in personal estate and 14000 in real property. Hicketts claimed Roccella promised compensation for services including acting as a chauffeur. He sought 5900.

One-Eyed 18-Pound Carp Shot In Potomac vicinity

Marvin Watson of 339 Elizabeth Ave. fishing with bow and arrow in the Potomac near Harpers Ferry this week shot an 18 pound carp with one eye. He found the carp was missing an eye after pulling it onto the bank. Picnic planned by The Men's Bible Class of St. Pauls Methodist, Hagerstown, will be July 13 at Hager Park with supper at 6 30 p.m. J W Roney chairs the committee.
