Veterans urged to pace celebration at Gettysburg reunion
Gettysburg pa July 1 two thousand of the nation s oldest men veterans of a war three quarters of a century ago were urged today to take it easy or they may crowd hospitals. Lt Col Hawley said a 12 hour hospital hold would help. Four veterans were moved to Gettysburg Hospital but none in serious condition.

Aged Veteran Hurt In Fall On Blue and Gray Train
Aged Confederate veteran J. P. Hamaker of Aledo Texas fell from a train berth near Grafton West Virginia during travel from Hagerstown to Gettysburg. Dr Victor D Miller attended him before he was carried to a battlefield hospital in Gettysburg. The veteran, ill for years, expressed readiness to die upon finding the battlefield tree near his wounding site. Cumberland mayor Thomas W Koons, a physician, escorted the party from Cumberland to Hagerstown. A large medical staff and hospital will care for veterans at the Gettysburg reunion.
