Two Die in Army Plane Crash Near Front Royal Va
Lieut Joseph Z Zimmerman died at Walter Reed Hospital as the second victim of an Army transport plane crash near Front Royal Virginia. Private Henry L Nied died soon after the crash on a mountainside east of Washington. Ser geant J Edison Harvey and Privates Alton M Wright and John W Anderson were badly burned. Privates William C Cardwell and Albert Fenton suffered minor injuries. All served from Langley Field. The flight had originated in Pittsburgh and earlier Fairfield Ohio. Survivors reported fog and low ceilings on the route.
