In Lonaconing Maryland on January 25 William Eichhorn and Frank Doolan Jr argue at a gasoline station and clash on a railroad track. A coal train struck them, Eichhorn killed and Doolan seriously injured as witnesses recall the rushing engine could not stop in time.
Miss Anna Fuss of Maugansville improved after exposure and frostbite in Wednesday night storm. Her lower limbs were badly frostbitten and pneumonia danger loomed. She traveled with two brothers and a sister when the snow halted their car, sought shelter at Reed Stottlemyer’s farm, then returned to Frederick street where she fell ill at Victor Shank’s home.

MILWAUKEE Jan 25 The nation's oldest active rail worker 98 year old Soda Ash Johnny Horan vowed no son of his would join the county pension list after his son William H 66 was dropped from pension pleadings. Horan celebrated his 98th birthday on the job at Milwaukee Railroad Shops and has worked 52 years with the road.
Six Army airmen were killed when two large bombers collided and crashed in flames at Luke Field on Ford Island Hawaii. Two crew escaped with injuries after bailing out. The dead include Lieut. William G. Beard and six others, with two survivors named Fisher and Lanigan. An immediate military investigation was ordered into Hawaii's grave aviation disaster.
Milwaukee January 25 1937 Adam Bochat a chicken farmer said today he cannot win the fight against weather. A gas heater he installed to guard 200 prize hens froze and exploded causing a fire that burned the birds to death.

Kenneth Renner an 18 year old Boonsboro High senior and son of former deputy sheriff Richard Renner was struck by a car driven by George Lindsay of Hagerstown near his home. He was taken to Washington County Hospital in unconscious condition with a fractured skull and multiple leg injuries. Little hope for recovery was reported. Renner attempted to cross the road as Lindsay approached and slipped on ice, prompting Lindsay to stop and aid him.
