Frankfurt Germany January 21 US Army headquarters said Czech border guards fired on an American constabulary patrol yesterday. Americans returned fire and were investigating a border incident with no American casualties. The clash followed a separate gun duel after a truck crashed through a road block. the truck driver was wounded. The incident occurred near the Czech border, where US forces have occupied Germany since last February.
Maryland's high court was asked to strike the LaVale sanitary district after residents alleged the formation vote was illegal because one polling place was a bowling alley. Violet McGill led the challenge, citing state law banning bowling alleys for balloting, while supporters said the bowling venue did not affect the result.
