President Truman calls for broader rapport between the people and Congress and praises the Tramas-Barkiny Club for the Democratic party. He says a cooperative Congress will be needed in 1950 when elections come, and warns against another uncooperative session.

Baltimore January 19 Robert Kelly 24 of New York died from injuries after his car overturned eight times on a suburban road. Lillian Diadone of New York had a fractured skull and was listed in critical condition. Three other occupants James Gavin 45 New York Leonard Tippett 17 Marcus Hook PA and Daniel Collins 18 Linwood PA were treated and released. Tippett and Collins said they were running away from home and picked up in Pennsylvania by Kelly.
