Maryland election law report urges statewide reform

Trucking Company Owner Shot To Death In Hackensack
William Brady a taxicab and trucking company owner was shot to death by three men using a machine gun as he neared his home in Hackensack New Jersey. Fourteen bullets were fired and the killers fled. Police say Brady had recently been warned he would not be at the spot.
Two Women Shot in Chicago Street Violence
In Chicago on January 17, bullets shattered storefronts on Howard Street injuring two women and sending shoppers fleeing. A dark young man about 30 believed involved fled after a green sedan halted, while detectives linked the case to possible gang activity surrounding Monkey Face Charlie Genker. Witnesses noted 73 bullet holes in one car and 55 in another.

Murder Case Is Dismissed in Morgan County
John Royer faced murder charges in Morgan County Circuit Court for killing Lon Amos of Paw Paw. Judge B D H Rodgers ruled the State's evidence was circumstantial and insufficient, dismissing the case. Amos was found dead with a hatchet in his Paw Paw hut last fall.
