Giant fly model built after 1000 specimens
West Nyack New York resident Chris Olwen spent ten months studying 1000 flies to create a giant fly model. The wingspan measures 27 inches and the body is 262,144 times larger than real flies. He used wax, bristles, paint and buckshot for eye detail and plans to send it to Boston's Museum of Science. He is known as an enthymologist.

Razing Of Dime Store Building And Lyceum History
The Lyceum site, selected after plans for a four-lot project including George St Harry fronting 40 feet on West Washington, was to feature a Lyceum Hall on the second floor with $250 yearly rent. Founded 1848, the Lyceum Company built with stock at $3,600 debt $5,500 total, cornerstone laid by Masons in September 1848, with a ceremony led by Judge Weisel and others. The structure roofed by 1849, paid debt by net income 1849–1858, then dividends 7–12 percent for years, survived a July 4, 1872 fire, continued as cultural center until Baldwin House era, housed Academy of Music and various tenants, then declined. By 1920s the Lyceum’s first floor housed Shafer clothing, Koliopulus restaurant, Ulrich music store, and others. within months all remnants vanish for a modern five and dime on the site.
