Driver Blameless In Fatal Crash Exonerated By Coroner Jury
A coroner's jury in Chambersburg absolved Brinton Stewart, 22, of blame for the death of Winton Lapole, 48, on Mt Aetna road last Monday. Stewart testified the rain and fog reduced visibility. he was driving about 15 miles per hour with headlights on when he struck Lapole as he walked toward the new municipal electric light plant. Dr W B Morrison treated Lapole, who was unconscious from Monday until Thursday afternoon, with a single head wound. Other witness William F. Rogers supported the accident narrative.

Prohibition agents seized a 750 gallon still, 75 gallons of whisky, and 80 mash gates at a steam boiler style bootleg camp in the Mt Aetna area. Operators unnamed.
