Annapolis Md January 1942 Governor O Conor proposed in the 1942 43 budget to add 36 State policemen next year and 40 more in 1943 raising the force to 285. A 4 hour teletype system would require 16 staff. Total police budget would rise to 865 199 in 1943 from 418 685 this year with increases of 333 307 in 1942 and 118 193 in 1943.

Fireman Killed In Train Derailment Near Columbus
A doubleheader Pennsylvania railroad passenger train derailed on the west outskirts of Columbus today. Fireman Walter B. Hansman, 16, of Cincinnati was killed and Engineer Bert Van Cleve of Xenia was hurt. They leaped from the cab as it left the rails. Hansman failed to jump clear and was knocked beneath the engine tender. Four mail and express cars left the rails though none of the passenger cars derailed.

Army of Perfect Manhood Is Seen
Dr Leonard G Rowntree of Philadelphia has been named to head the medical division of the National Selective Service Administration.
