Plans are complete for a maternal hygiene program at the State Armory this evening by Morris Frock Post American Legion and the Ladies Auxiliary. Speakers include Dr. Charles Peckham of Johns Hopkins on Adequate Maternity Care and Dr. J A Siegel of the University of Maryland on Why Should Mothers Die. A Legion automobile will be presented to the Washington County Public Health Association with Colonel John Carmichael making the presentation and former State Senator William D Byron accepting. Music by The Ambassadors.

Man jailed four months for taking railroad locomotive
Berkeley Springs W Va Jan 7 Harold Boyd 30 of California received four months in jail after stealing a Baltimore and Ohio Railroad locomotive. A hustler found the engine missing two months ago on a switching track with Boyd sitting in the cab driving it back and forth. Boyd told troopers I just wanted to take a ride.
