Market Parking Meter Rate Set in Hagerstown
Mayor and Council approved a new meter ordinance for the market house lot aligning hours with downtown meters. One hundred fifty one meters were installed yesterday with rates two hours for five cents and four hours for ten cents. Meters operate 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturdays. Sundays and the listed holidays are free. A Special Parking Fund will receive market meter proceeds to expand city office parking.

Hagerstown officials debated how to spend a $150,000 major projects fund for 1950. Mayor Mills and Councilman Frank Elliott urged writing an agreed plan to prevent a cat and dog fight over allocations.
