British parachutists and sea borne infantry assaulted a German radio detector post on the northern French coast under RAF air cover and naval support. They formed an assault group at dawn, wrecked the station, and withdrew, leaving a ruined site and scattered guards. A London military spokesman said details were incomplete as ships may have ferried troops.
Hamilton Homes Inc of Mt Airy Maryland was granted articles of incorporation to build over fifty homes on the former Hamilton farm west of the Middleburg pike. Capitalization set at 500 shares of 100 dollars each. Asa H Watkins Brad ley Ellsworth Watkins Thurman C Lindsey named incorporators. Pen-Mar Park Inc also received incorporation to operate an amusement business with 100 no par shares. Incorporators are Ben A Berman Larr A Harris and Edward M Ditch.
Eighteen men were enlisted in the U S Army this week through the local recruiting office. Four hailed from Washington County including Richard A. Hargett Clyde W. Bishop Eugene Caldwell and Carroll J. Kreitz. The February total reaches 58 with enlistees from several nearby counties and states.

Henry Jacob Dusing a 58 year old cobbler was sentenced to four years in the Maryland Penitentiary by Judge Joseph D Mish for assault with intent to rape the 14 year old girl in the case He pleaded for leniency stating a clean record in 58 years and the judge noted the severity of the crime and referenced a recent death sentence for a similar offense.
